Pur produit de la Uncanny Valley, Cuthead s’est distingué cette dernière décennie par des disques mêlant habilement House et instrus flirtant avec le hip-hop. Avec un nombre d’albums outrepassant ses EPs, fait rare dans le milieu, Cuthead est prolifique et semble bien plus à l’aise avec l’exercice du long format. Le producteur originaire de Dresde perpétue des esthétiques similaires à ses compatriotes Max Graef et Glenn Astro avec qui on le voit fréquemment programmé. Son dernier album, Return of the sample Jesus, est sorti il y a 1 mois et il a encore quelques projets dans les cartons. A suivre… Lors de l’élaboration de ce podcast, Cuthead nous a confié ne pas apprécier jouer trop de musiques club dans ses mixes enregistrés pour une meilleure expérience d’écoute dans un cadre domestique ou en voiture. Ce dernier s’est focalisé sur des morceaux qui ont fait leurs preuves chez lui et qu’il continue d’écouter des années après les avoir découverts. Ce mix d’1 heure passe donc par différents tempos et beaucoup d’émotions, accrochez-vous.
Cuthead was graduated from the Uncanny Valley School where he released tons of records displaying a clever blend of instrumental hip-hop and house music, just like his fellow partners Glenn Astro and Max Graef he often plays with. Originating from Dresden, Cuthead has been really productive over the past ten years, showing a greater interest in LPs over the EPs. His last album, Return of the sample Jesus, was released last month but Cuthead already has a few projects in the pipe that you may hear about quite soon. To be continued… He told us he made this podcast mixing many different genres and tempos to give the listener a decent experience at home, on a bike or in a car as it’s the way Cuthead listens to mixes. As he explained himself : “All of the tracks are evergreens for me and have been approved by a longer time. There is this type of tracks which impresses you on the first listen, but annoy you really fast. This is when you skip to get to the good shit again and I try to avoid this stuff. So it might not be the newest stuff, but you will be able to listen to it several times”.
