Le parcours de Toma Kami se démarque par les différents lieux qu’il investit. Né et élevé en Angleterre, il a fait son éducation nocturne entre Londres, Hong Kong et Berlin où il vit maintenant. Thomas a d’abord étudié et travaillé dans la vidéo avant de switcher gentiment de fêtard averti à DJ puis plus récemment à producteur et gérant de son label Man Band Rec. Très indépendant dans tout ce qu’il entreprend, Thomas a créé son label il y a quelques mois en sortant son premier disque. Le titre est un petit clin d’oeil à l’expression “One-Man-Band” qui colle bien à son état d’esprit. Jouant de plus en plus et impliqué sur plusieurs projets, son travail a dernièrement été remarqué par le fameux label de Bristol Banoffee Pies Records. Comme nous connaissions l’inclination de Toma Kami pour les Phonocasts depuis bien longtemps et que nous étions heureux de voir son travail porter ses fruits, nous lui avons proposé de participer à la série. C’était donc un plaisir de savoir qu’on a pu inspirer quelqu’un et une joie de recevoir son Phonocast. Cet épisode bien deep a été enregistré au Vietnam il y a quelques semaines. Bonne écoute !

Toma Kami characterize itself by an impressive mobility. Born and raised in England, he did his dancefloor schooling between London, Berlin and Hong Kong. Thomas initially studied and worked in the video industry but switched slowly and surely from partygoer to DJ and recently to label owner and producer. Very autonomous in what he undertakes he self-released a few months ago the first Ep of his imprint Man Band Rec., a little wink the idiomatic locution one-man-band. Playing more and more and working several projects his work also got notified by the Bristolian label Banoffee Pies Records. As we know that Toma Kami is also a very loyal listener to the Phonocast series and that his hard work starts to pay, it was a joy to give and a pleasure to receive. This episode is a deep recording done in Vietnam a few weeks ago. Good listening !
