Si dans un an vous avez besoin d’un médecin généraliste à Amsterdam, Simon Weiss est définitivement votre homme, cependant si vous êtes en bonne santé maintenant ce talentueux artiste l’est tout autant. Remarqué en 2011 par son superbe track « Amsterdam Waves » sur la compilation Amsterdam Allstars (Rush Hour), il s’avérait qu’Isaie Reuling n’en était pas à son coup d’essai. En s’attardant un peu plus sur sa discographie on note que les quelques Ep qu’il a sorti entre Hometaping Is Killing Music et Deepermotions sont tous très solides. Le producteur Amstellodamois s’illustre par une House très mélodieuse qui sort un peu des sentiers battus et laisse la part belle au lyrisme. Ici, pas de revival classique ou de nostalgie qui donne la larme à l’œil, Mr Weiss dispose véritablement d’une marque de fabrique qui lui est propre. A la fin du mois d’Aout sortira un projet interdisciplinaire conjointement réalisé avec un designer et un photographe. Un disque pour la fameuse institution hollandaise (Rush Hour) est également dans les tuyaux. Ce Phonocast dure deux heures ce qui est un peu plus long qu’à l’accoutumé, cependant le large spectre musical exploré au travers de cette sélection fait passer le temps plus vite qu’on ne pourrait le croire. Through his superb track Amsterdam Wave on the various artists Amsterdam Allstars (Rush Hour), we noticed that Isaie Reuling was not on his first shot. If you spend more time investigating on his discography you’ll figure that the Eps released on Hometaping is Killing Music and Deepermotions are really heavy. The producer from Amsterdam illustrates his skills by a really melodique and uncommon house, that give a big space to lyricism. No classic revival or nostalgic house there, Mr Weiss develop his own sound. At the end of August he will release an interdisciplinary project co-realised with a designer and a photographer. A record for the famous Dutch institution (Rush Hour) is also in the pipeline. This Phonocast last two hours which is a little bit longer that what we use to do, but the wide musical spectrum explored through this selection makes the time going faster than we could believe.
