If you know the Rüf Kutz, you obviously know Rüf Dug the two go hand in hand. If you do not know any of these names, it’s never too late to discover… Rüf Kutz started in 2010 putting forward muscular but non-standard house tracks and disco edits from Rüf Dug and his friends. The label illustrates nicely the wide spectrum on which the artists envision disco and house music with a modern accent. His LP released this year on Music For Dreamz was a good illustration of his wide repertoire including Deep House, Disco, and downtempo moods. Consequently, it’s not surprising to notice that the man is also an eclectic DJ and that his Phonocast is not especially club oriented it include Kabyle music from Ait Mislayene but also Hip Hop from Tany Winley. This eclectic Phonocast match perfectly with the season change and home listening. Indeed, summer is gone but and it sounds like a smooth and funky transition. Good listening!
