Lorsqu’il est question du Terraforma, certains noms reviennent régulièrement : Rabih Beani, Donato Dozzy ou encore Paquita Gordon. Ce dernier nom n’est pas des moindres, la trentenaire est un des piliers du festival et participe activement à chaque édition. Ayant voyagé durant près d’une décennie, passionnée de plongée et s’étant intéressé au cinéma durant ses études supérieures, ses prestations sont à l’image de ses hobbies, à la fois immersifs et très imagés. L’artiste italienne est souvent en Sicile, où elle a fondé l’association « il Vulcano », afin de promouvoir la culture et la nature à Pantelleria : une petite île perdue en Méditerranée, à mi-chemin entre l’Afrique et l’Europe. En véritable électron libre, Francesca de son vrai nom, ne rentre dans aucune case, et en alignement avec son parcours iconoclaste, elle devient encore plus imprévisible lorsqu’elle passe derrière les platines. Jouant ce qu’elle veut quand bon lui semble, ne vous attendez pas à ce qu’elle vous ponde un mix linéaire, mais plus à ce qu’elle vous sculpte des moments. C’est de ça dont il est question avec ce personnage qui ne se limitera pas à un style lorsqu’elle peut embrasser un instant partagé avec son public. Une semaine avant le festival Terraforma, l’intéressé nous a fourni un enregistrement du set qu’elle a donné au Minimüzikhol avec une de ses collègues d’origine stambouliote Ece Duzgit. When it’s about Terraforma, some names appear to be recurring: Rabih Beani, Donato Dozzy or Paquita Gordon.
You may not know this artist, but she is deeply tied to the festival participating actively in every edition. Paquita traveled a lot during almost ten years; she is fond of scuba diving and studied cinema. Also, that’s may not seems surprising to assert you that her sets reflect her hobbies, it’s all about immersion and evocation. The Italian artist/activist is often traveling to Sicily where she created the non-profit making project “Il Vulcano” to promote culture and nature in Pantelleria: a small island lost in the meditareanéen midway between Africa and Europe. As genuine free-thinker, Francesca aka Paquita Gordon do not fit any category, and as her winding path, she is not predictable when she takes control of the decks. Playing what she wants, when she wants, do not expect a linear mix from her bu more that she sculpts a moment. That is what is all about with this character; Paquita won’t stop to a style when she can encompass a moment of intimacy with her crowd. One week before the Terraforma festival we are happy to share with you a set she performed at the Istanbul institution Minimüzikhol with her Turkish friend Ece Duzgit. Good listening!
